Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP)
PGP consists of pain around the back or front of the pelvis affecting the sacroiliac joints or pubic symphysis. Commonly affected during pregnancy or after childbirth, pain around the pelvic girdle can affect sleeping, walking, getting in and out of the car, and rolling over in bed. Physiotherapy can help to teach effective muscle control through a Pilates programme. You may also benefit from hands-on treatment to improve joint and muscle activity and using a support belt.
