At C-Physio Pilates is performed as a clinical exercise. As such it is essential to establish baseline levels of pain, fitness and flexibility before any sort of programme can be introduced. We also need to ensure patients can exercise safely with minimal risk of injury before entering any form of exercise group.

You will need to undertake a 1:1 Pilates Assessment to ensure you understand the principles of APPI Pilates, the key terms used regularly by our physios, and confirm that any medical history is identified prior to beginning any form of exercise.

Physiotherapy Pilates Initial Assessment and Introduction to the 5 Key Elements

A Physiotherapy Pilates Initial Assessment will be offered to all patients who want to start Pilates for the first time at C-Physio. Medical issues and underlying musculoskeletal problems can be identified and a baseline level for fitness and flexibility established. This will reduce the risk of adverse or unwanted reactions to exercise, and help to tailor plans to you as an individual.

Introducing the 5 key elements of the Pilates technique independently and during basic exercises will help you to understand and follow instructions more effectively in a class setting and so achieve better results in the early stages. It will also help us establish the correct level of class for you.

For patients who have not attended the clinic with a pre-existing problem that has been treated, a Pilates Assessment & Introduction to the 5 Key Elements should be completed.

Physiotherapy Pilates Introduction to the 5 Key Elements

If you are currently undergoing treatment or have recently finished treatment, and a medical history has been completed, a 30 minute 1:1 Pilates Introduction can be easily completed.
This session is the best way to effectively learn the 5 key elements of the Pilates technique independently and during exercise.
